4DflexiSPORT® Wash Care Longevity Guide
🧼 4DflexiSPORT® Care & Longevity Guide
1. Washing Instructions
To keep the technical knit weave free of skin oils and salts (which can break down fibres over time), we recommend washing your brace at least twice a week if worn daily.
-
Machine Washable: Place the brace in a mesh laundry bag to prevent the hook-and-loop straps from snagging other clothes.
-
Temperature: Wash at 30°C or 40°C.
-
Detergent: Use a standard mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can coat the technical fibres and reduce the "breathability" and moisture-wicking effectiveness.
2. Drying (Quick-Dry Technology)
One of the greatest advantages of 4DflexiSPORT fabric is how fast it dries.
-
Air Dry Only: Lay the brace flat or hang it to air dry.
-
🚫 No Tumble Drying: High heat can damage the high-tensile plastic splint and the elastic integrity of the fabric.
-
🚫 No Direct Heat: Do not place the brace directly on a hot radiator.
3. Maintaining the "Strap Grip"
To ensure the "hook-receptive" fabric stays effective:
-
Close the Straps: When the brace is not in use or is in the wash, always fasten the hook-and-loop straps. This prevents lint and fluff from building up in the "teeth" of the straps.
-
Cleaning the Hooks: If the straps start to lose their grip, check for trapped lint. You can usually remove this gently with a fine-toothed comb or a pair of tweezers.
4. Hygiene Tip for Long-Term Wear
Because the material is odour-resistant and hypoallergenic, you shouldn't experience the "neoprene rubbery smell." However, if you are wearing the brace 24/7 for De Quervain's, we recommend:
-
Giving your skin a 15-minute "breathing break" during a period of total rest (like watching TV) to allow for skin inspection and moisturisation if needed.
